just had the most revitalizing visit with my Lisa in Chicago—took a bunch of great polaroids & will try to post soon! Chicago was great & Lisa’s apartment was rock. I didn’t really do much touristy stuff because what I really wanted was just time with my best friend, so it was perfect. My favorite part was our morning coffee shop runs and our photo session by the lake. Thrifting up a storm and pigging out in front of the TV, in that special way only best friends can ;) The weirdest thing about the whole trip was the sense of relief I felt coming out from Penn station when I got back to the city…Like that feeling I used to get when I got home after a family vacation. A comfort in familiarity. Weird considering I’ve been here 3 and a half years now and haven’t had that feeling before…haven’t had that feeling anywhere since I left ND when I was 18. Especially weird getting it on the same bustling street that used to scare the crap out of me. Bazzaro-world. Little Lisa and little Mira would be proud of us if they had a time machine. I really wish we were in the same city permanently but I guess for now I will have to be content with the annual visit. Seriously life affirming. love love love my Lisa <3.
